Common questions about online tutoring with Learning Between the Lines. Clear, brief, and helpful.
Is LBTL right for my learner?
We support K–5 learners who need confidence and skill in reading and writing. Our two program paths match the learner’s stage: Little Literacy Launchers serves early readers, and Next Chapter Navigators supports growing readers transitioning into chapter books and early composition.
How does a typical session work?
Each lesson follows a simple flow: a quick warm-up, targeted skill practice, guided application, a short reflection, and a take-home tip. Instruction is tailored to your child with the right pace and support. All materials are provided digitally.
Do you offer one-to-one and small group formats?
Yes. You can choose one-to-one tutoring for fully personalized instruction or small group tutoring for a collaborative setting with peers who share similar goals. Group sizes stay small for focus and attention.
How do online meetings work?
Sessions are live and interactive on a secure video platform. We use shared screens, digital whiteboards, and reading tools so learners can see, hear, and participate with ease. A quiet space, a laptop or tablet, and a stable connection create the best experience.
Will my child have practice between sessions?
Short practice is encouraged. We provide clear next steps that fit busy schedules — ten-minute reads, quick word study, or a simple writing prompt. Parents receive guidance so practice stays easy and stress-free.
How do you track progress?
We begin with a brief skills check, set goals together, and review growth at regular points in the series. You’ll receive updates with strengths, focus areas, and practical tips to support learning at home.
Can I sit in on sessions?
Parents are welcome to be nearby for younger learners. For older learners, we encourage independence during lessons with a recap afterward. We follow a simple privacy and safety routine for every meeting.
Do you work with schools or learning plans?
Yes. When helpful, we coordinate goals with classroom teachers and consider IEP or 504 supports. Share any documents you’d like us to review, and we’ll align instruction where possible.
What payment methods do you accept?
Checkout runs through our secure store. Major credit cards and digital wallets are accepted. All prices appear in U.S. dollars.
How do I schedule my sessions?
Choose a package in the store and complete checkout. Then, use the confirmation email to pick session times. You can also book directly from the Book Now page.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule. Sessions missed without notice count toward the package. We’ll always try to find a make-up time when possible.
Are digital resources refundable?
Instant digital downloads are non-refundable once delivered. If a file has an issue, we’ll replace it promptly.
Do tutoring packages expire?
Packages are designed to be used within the selected series — eight, sixteen, or twenty-four sessions. If life happens, reach out. We’ll help you complete your series within a reasonable window.
Can I switch formats after purchase?
Yes. You can move from small group to one-to-one or vice versa before the second session of a series. We’ll adjust your remaining balance toward the new format.
Where can I read the full policies?
View our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy for complete details on purchases, refunds, and data practices.
How can I contact you with other questions?
Use the contact form on the Book Now page, or email hmartin@learningbetweenthelines.com. We respond promptly.
What packages do you offer?
Choose a eight-session starter, an sixteen-session growth plan, or a twenty-four-session-session intensive. Each series follows a clear arc: assess, teach, practice, review. This keeps momentum steady and measurable.
Do you offer a trial?
We offer a meet-and-greet to confirm fit and goals. After that, you can begin with a four-session starter and extend to a longer series with a simple upgrade.
How is small group pricing set?
Small group pricing reflects shared instruction while keeping groups very small. This ensures high-quality teaching at a friendly cost. One-to-one pricing reflects fully personalized learning.
Do you offer discounts?
Seasonal promotions appear on the site occasionally. We also offer family bundles for siblings. Check the Pricing page for current offers.
Can I get a custom plan?
Yes. If your learner needs a special schedule or a combined reading and writing plan, contact us. We’ll create a plan that fits your goals.
Where can I see exact prices?
See the Pricing page for current rates for Little Literacy Launchers and Next Chapter Navigators.
