Peek Inside Our Virtual Literacy Classroom
A parent-friendly tour of our Week 1 lesson: "All About Me" featuring consonant digraphs, interactive reading, and meaningful character connections.

SEL Check-In: Mood Corner
Students drag emoji icons into a shared "Mood Corner" on our Miro board and share why they chose that feeling. This builds emotional vocabulary and speaking confidence.
Parent tip: Ask your child to describe their "emotional weather" at home too! This builds emotional awareness and self-reflection skills.

Our Learning Goal
"I can read and spell words with consonant digraphs." We review the session agenda so students know exactly what to expect and feel prepared for success.
Parent tip: Clear expectations help reduce anxiety and increase engagement. Try sharing daily plans at home too!

Digraph Detectives
We explore digraph sounds (ch, sh, th, ph, wh) with visual cards, then become "Digraph Detectives" to brainstorm examples together. A roll-and-read game makes practice fun!
Parent tip: Play "I Spy" with digraphs during car rides — "I spy something that starts with 'ch'!" Make learning part of everyday life.

Reading "Champion of Quiet"
We read this engaging story in chunks, making predictions and checking comprehension. Students highlight digraph words using Miro's annotation tools as we discover them in context.
Parent tip: Pause during home reading to find digraphs together — it makes reading interactive! Let your child be the "digraph detective."

Vocabulary Adventures
Key words like "encourage," "champion," and "decision" come alive through matching games and quick writing. Students respond to: "Tell about a time you felt like a champion of something."
Parent tip: Celebrate your child's "champion moments" — big or small victories count! Help them build confidence through recognition.

Wrap-Up & Celebrate
We review "What is a digraph?" and complete a quick Miro poll exit ticket. Every student leaves knowing exactly what they accomplished and feeling proud of their progress.
Parent tip: Ask your child to teach you about digraphs — explaining helps cement learning! Celebrate their new knowledge.
